1981 Yamaha Dt175 Enduro Manual
Posted By admin On 13.01.20Ok here is the best part, I got the UVIP when i transferred ownership and i saw all the previous owners, I saw the name of the guy who bought it brand new in 1981. Got me thinking how cool it must have been to buy this bike brand new, it was probably a big deal to the guy. I decided to look his name up on facebook and sure enough i find a name with the correct location. So i decide ill message him and send him a pic of his old bike still rocking 35 yrs later. I got the exact response i was hoping for. Hi, man i enjoyed reading your story & thanks for posting it. Just great to get in contact with original owner.

These DT175's were & are super popular down here in nz. The only downfall is due to lack of maintenance in particular the swinging arm pivot & the arm used to seize up then be a bugger to get out. Most of those ones were used as farm bikes so operated in adverse conditions knee deep cowshit lol but realy we should have dismantled & greased every moving part & the long bolt plus where the arm mounts to the shock. Actualy i think we started doing that at work on assembling them new out of the crate in the end. Time was money but had to be done.

Same with wheel axles. Loved them though. Disclaimer This site is not affiliated with Yamaha Motor Corporation.
