Springfield 187h Manual
Posted By admin On 14.01.20As of July, 2010. From Internet research & gun shop inquiries: The value varies according to the stock wood, condition of stock, action of firing mechanism (more complicated than many models- makes distinctive clacky sound) Apparently the Springfield/ Savage model was in production for only a couple years in the early '60s. The complexity of working parts and tendency to require constant cleaning makes this more of an collectible/ wall decoration that is fun to shoot whenever you have the time to follow with cleaning. Beech/Basswood stock in very good condition and clean mechanicals. $100- $175 Walnut stock with clean mechanicals. $200- $250 The barrel is tooled to accept misc.

Add price of scope If you are into unassisted long target shooting the 24' barrel is a bonus. Just bought one used at collectors firearms for 125, very good shape fires s, l, lr. Lots of guys like this for pest control around their property since the shorts are so quiet.
Any rifle that fires semi auto all three of these rounds is worth more used than other single type cartridge 22's. This rifle could have eaqsily been 175 bucks, most of the similar rilfes at the gun shows that come through houston, the price seem sto start at about 175. And goes up due to condition, and if they are old remmy or winny's. As far as ammo goes, i tried all types of shorts with no luck, lots of jams, until i got to the cci hi vel shorts, hollow point, plated, they would just thwip away! The Little Scout Model 14-1/2 was made from 1911 to around 1941. Itfollowed the Little Scout Model 14 (one-piece stock, 1906-1911).The lack of the Savage mark probably won't affect the value much.Condition is everything. I have about a dozen 14-1/2s and have paidas little as $75 to as much as $175, and I've seen really niceexamples with asking prices exceeding $500; they never seem to sellat that elevated level.
Most 14-1/2s on the auction boards go from$100 to $200. Any gunsmith with a lathe could turn a firing pin;the pin is simple and easy to replace. Some on-line parts sellersmay have the pins, too, and you can replace it easily yourself bytapping out a small pin that holds it in place.
I have been looking for a band type extractor for my 187. I have 2 bolts. One has the extractor arms and plungers and springs.
The other uses a band type extractor. Numrich is sold out of the band extractors - has been for quite a while. Does anyone know or use another parts place that might have one of these? Any help will be appreciated! Of perhaps you have an old 187 you would part out?I think this is what you need NUMRICH Extractor SAVAGE 6E, 6H, 6DL, 87E, 87KE, 87H, 87KH, 187E, 187H, 188H SKU: 109010H Price: $12.25.
