2017 Honda 1800 Service Manual
Posted By admin On 02.02.20I'm needing a service manual for my 2017 Wing. I've located two sources, Helminc, for $127.39 and Service Shop Repair Manual, for $89. Both claim to be the same manual that is used by Honda shops and both say they have the manual in stock.
The manual I bought for my 07 Wing I purchased from HondaDirect, if I remember correctly, and it only says that is is a Honda corporation publication. Anyone bought either the Helm or the Service Shop Repair manual and are they exact copies of the official Honda shop manual. Just like it says in your Owner's Manual, order it through your local Honda dealer, or go to Helminc.com. No matter who you order it through, they all come from Helm. The more expensive one might come with a binder.
The less expensive one will probably need a binder. The $89 one may not be a real Honda manual.
2017 Honda Civic Service Manual
To complete my 5th gen collection, I've just ordered 3. 2006-10 GL1800/A SERVICE MANUAL $129.32 - 2012-17 GL1800 GL1800A AND GL1800B SERVICE MANUAL $127.39 - DON'T SEE IT THERE NOW, BUT I THINK I ALSO ORDERED 2014-15 VALKYRIE SERVICE MANUAL I've had various versions of these, but have ordered enough manuals in my time to know that what I ordered will be final editions.
Those are ultimately the ones I want. I just rechecked both sites. The manual on the Service Shop Repair Manual site states that it is '2014-2017 Honda Goldwing F6B/Gl1800B/GL1800BD part#61MCA66 Sevice Shop Repair Manual and Electrical Troubleshooting Manual'. The picture of the manual says the same thing with the exception that it says it is for 2012-2017 Golwings and it looks like the official Honda manual I already have. They as say 'These are new dealer/factory service/shop manuals just as the dealers have and use'. The picture they show is completely different from the pictures I've seen of the Common Procedures manual. On the Helminc site the manual they have for sale is lists as '2012-2017 GL1800A GL1800B Service Manual and Electrical Manual W/O Binder, so no binder with the more expensive one.
I have no doubt the Helm manual is authentic, but the other site says theirs it also authentic and show a picture that looks very authentic. I just rechecked both sites. I always get a little concerned with sites that do not have an actual address or contact list with a phone number. I always get a little concerned with sites that do not have an actual address or contact list with a phone number. That's something I hadn't noticed till you brought it up. Though they list the manual with the same part number and description as Helm uses, I'd rather have a phone number to call someone if something on the order goes wrong. Plus I noticed on the the Service Shop Repair Manual site in their customer feedback that on person stated the manual he received was bound. Even if their manual is an exact copy of the Helm manual, I would rather have the manual be loose pages in in a binder, like the manual for my 07 Wing, they are easier to work with than a bound manual.
I just ordered the manual from Helm. The difference is only $38 anyway.
